I am a Member of Technical Staff at Anthropic, where I lead a team focused on Adversarial Robustness. Before that, I obtained my PhD in Statistical Machine Learning from the University of Oxford. I hope my career contributes to the safe development of AI, which I sincerely hope benefits all beings.

If you are interested in working with me, I offer mentorship through MATS. You can find out more and apply there! I’m looking to work with highly motivated mentees who want to contribute to AI safety, but feel as though they are lacking mentorship. You can also apply to join my team at Anthropic here. We’re working on pragmatic approaches to mitigate real-world LLM misuse, particularly focusing on catastrophic risks.

Other than research, I have been deeply moved by the words of poets, teachers, and friends. I love Rainer Maria Rilke, whose influence reverberates throughout my own poetry. I cherish cultivating the beautiful qualities of the heart known as the Brahma viharas, and have been particularly touched by Rob Burbea’s teachings on Soulmaking, Samadhi, and the beautiful qualities of heart. I co-organise the Bay Area Burbea Sangha and helped set up an intentional living house in Berkeley focused around cultivating truth, beauty, and goodness. I am also an ecstatic dance DJ and facilitate themed dances that look to develop wisdom and cultivate heartfulness, often at The Berkeley Alembic. If you think we might be friends, reach out!

“Let the beauty you love be what you do.
There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground.”
